... something very small
We know that an atom is mostly empty space. According to one old scientific model there are protons in the middle surrounded by light-weight distant electrons. What would happen if we took the empty space away? What if we imagined there were no electric charges, or other forces stopping this collapse? What would happen if we could take all the space out of the atoms of, say, a politician? He would become invisibly small!
So, what would happen if we took all humans who ever existed and took out all the space? A crazy “thought experiment” and we will not go into the technical side of this to explain how this would be calculated.
That’s about 100 billion people collapsed down to … what? The size of a galaxy? The size of a virus?
It can be calculated and the answer is, something about the size of a 2 cm fetus at 10 weeks old. 100 billion people reduced to something of human scale. Negligible? Dispensible?
Or perhaps to something the size of a sugar cube. (Hopefully) something sweet?
100 billion people fitting into a space about the size of one human hand or a 10 week old foetus.
What will be born from the human race?
